DESCRIPTION

This project was assigned to high school students in grade 9 at Francis Lewis High School to assess their understanding in the systems of linear, linear-quadratic equations/inequalities to meet the following objectives:

  • Students will be able to design a mathematical model to describe of a systems of functions using mathematical concepts and language. (Conceptual Understanding)

  • Students will be able to use appropriate tools (graphically and algebraically) to solve systems of functions. (Procedural Fluency)

  • Students will be able to draw conclusions and interpret their mathematical results in the context of the situation. (Mathematical Reasoning Skills)
